Toyota Motor Corp. has filed for approval to build a new manufacturing facility in Texas, building on momentum in the U.S. as President Donald Trump pressures carmakers to bolster domestic production.
The site would be located in Bexar County with a total investment of $2 billion, according to a filing on May 15 submitted to the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. The forthcoming factory would create 2,000 new jobs, according to the document.
