Keeping those dollars local has an exponential impact on the economy. It’s not just about supporting a local business. It’s how those dollars continue to circulate in our local economy. Local businesses hire locally. They rent commercial spaces, they buy or rent housing and they pay local taxes. However, it goes beyond that. Local business owners and employees eat at our local restaurants, shop at our stores, visit our attractions and donate to local charities. Whenever I attend a charity fundraiser, I’m astounded by how many local businesses donate. Local business owners care about our community because it’s where they live.
