America Imports Nearly $79 Billion in Cellphones, Other Household Goods From China

The only import that Americans spent more money on last year than Chinese cellphones and other household goods was Canadian crude oil. America’s third-largest imported category was “other parts and accessories of vehicles” made in Mexico ($57 million). The fourth was Chinese-made computers ($52 million). The fifth was Irish “pharmaceutical preparations” ($50 million). The sixth-largest category of imports was Mexican-made trucks, buses, and special purpose vehicles ($43 million). The seventh was Chinese-made toys, games, and sporting goods ($41 million).
