U.S. Senator Baldwin (D-WI) sent a letter to Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Administrator Bhatt strongly urging the agency to end its 40-year waiver that allows them to skirt Buy America rules when constructing highways. “Discontinuing this blanket waiver will begin the long overdue process of developing FHWA’s guidelines for the purchase of American-made manufactured products in Federal-aid highway projects,” wrote Senator Baldwin.
