When it comes to leather goods that stand the test of time, one Southern brand has nearly a century of craftsmanship to back them up, and their latest collection celebrates their Lynchburg, Virginia roots.
Moore & Giles’ Seven Hills Collection (a reference to their hometown’s nickname) features an assortment of beautiful, small-batch goods—from journals and wallet covers to duffels and backpacks—made with leather sourced from American-based tanneries.
It’s an authentic reflection of the company’s almost-hundred-year evolution. “Moore & Giles was really a company that was born out of the Depression,” says Sackett Wood, CEO of the leather purveyor, which was founded in 1933. For decades, Moore & Giles operated as a finder of shoe-making materials, but by the time Wood came aboard in 1990, it was clear that the changing economy required a shift in the way they approached the business.
