Mars spotlights American-made brands, investments

Mars is launching its first U.S. corporate advertising campaign to highlight the company’s century-long manufacturing presence in the U.S., including production of pet food brands PEDIGREE and Royal Canin.

The campaign, titled “Mars Is Closer Than You Think,” launched October 13 and spotlights Mars’ operations of 38 factories, veterinary clinics, labs and 16 regional offices across the U.S. The company said it employs over 70,000 associates who produce more than 40 brands domestically.

Mars announced earlier this year a $2 billion investment in American manufacturing through 2026, adding to $6 billion invested over the previous five years. The company reports that 94% of Mars products sold in the U.S. are manufactured domestically.

The campaign will initially focus on five U.S. markets: Topeka, Kansas; Salt Lake City, Utah; Dayton, Ohio; greater Nashville, Tennessee; and greater Washington, D.C. Mars selected these markets to highlight specific regional operations, including the company’s largest global Royal Canin dry pet food facility in Lewisburg, Ohio, which opened earlier this year, and the Nashville-area headquarters of Mars North American Pet Nutrition division.
