General Motors has released its fourth-quarter and year-end sales report for the U.S. for 2024. It’s a pretty rosy outlook for The General, which leapfrogs Toyota as the best-selling automaker in the country. In all, GM delivered 2,705,080 vehicles in 2024, accounting for a four-percent increase over 2023. By comparison, Toyota sold 2,332,623 vehicles. GM also estimates its market share at 16.5 percent. It’s no surprise that pickup trucks played a big part in GM’s success in 2024, but some of the smaller SUVs performed well. GM also sold enough electric vehicles to nab the second-place spot in America behind Tesla.
