Oklahoma Senator Carri Hicks (D-OKC) recently obtained approval for her “Buy American” bill from the Senate’s Retirement and Government Resources Committee.
Senate Bill 168 seeks to encourage more use of American-made products through placing a requirement on Oklahoma government entities to purchase goods and equipment made in the United States for any construction and repair project that exceeds $100,000.
“I’m proud of this effort to support American jobs and American businesses,” said Hicks. My legislation would give American companies and workers the first shot at providing the goods and equipment needed as our state, counties, cities, and school districts invest in critical infrastructure.”
